Hakuin, Hakuin Ekaku, before 1768

Self-portrait of zen master hakuin ekaku (白隠 慧鶴?, 1686–1768). In the 18th century hakuin revived the rinzai school. His influence was so immense that almost all contemporary rinzai lineages are traced back to him. Date: before 1768.
