the artist put color names on the clothes of the people he had just drawn in order to remember these nuances when using his sketch for a painted composition. We can read on the dresses of the two young women, in the center: "bluish purple, tere dombre (sic)" and on the costumes of the two men on the right: "green, black". Historical commentary:
