The experts at bruun rasmussen used the title marine med fiskere i en båd samt andre skibe (fishermen in a boat, and other ships). Had they looked closer at the painting they could have discovered that the boat in the foreground is a pilot boat (with a stripe down the sail). The ship in the background is a danish lightship. There were only three of those in 1848, stationed at drogden, læsø and anholt. This might be fyrskib no. I at drogden, because that vessel was used as base by the pilots of dragør, guiding ships through the southern part of øresund. Object Type: painting. Date: 1848. Dimensions: height: 35 cm (13.7 in); width: 52 cm (20.4 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Unknown. Vilhelm Melbye - En lodsbåd ved et fyrskib - 1848
