Finished drawing for pl 5 of "industry and idleness" (1747), "the idle 'prentice turn'd away and sent to sea"; a boat being rowed down the thames by a waterman smoking pipe, with idle 'making the cuckold's horns', a sailor pointing to a gallows on the shore, another sailor showing idle a lead (?), his mother sitting before him weeping, various shipping and line of windmills in background brush drawing in grey wash, over graphite, indented for transfer.
