two figures formed from simple sausages with a small sausage of earth pinched for the arms. One of the two is holding an object, a small cylinder whose top is broken (a), the other has his left arm broken at the end. Only the faces are treated, very summarily, in the style of almost contemporary japanese haniwa. A bun on the top of the head, large protruding ears, a deep slit for the mouth, two smaller ones for the eyes, the nose being represented by a vertical slit which divides the face in two for the largest (b), by a finer slit for the other. Both bases are cut at an angle, which would mean that both pieces were attached to something. Historical commentary:
