As young commander-in-chief of the army of the united dutch provinces: bust, en face from the left, body half from the right; with full wig; moustache; in armor, with jabot, sash around the right shoulder; in oval frame; below on a ribbon loop a round medal with his coat of arms, inscribed with the motto of the order of the garter; outer hatching complementing the rectangle; below hatched pedestal, in the text field a five-line french caption; last french note by the seller (presumably the engraver himself). Copperplate engraving, sold (presumably also engraved) by martin bouche, antwerp. Date: circa 1672. Medium: engraving.
