Swedish stamp 24 Öre POST.054047, 1858

Stamp 24 öre 1858. Mainly used on domestic letters in the second weight class and on certain overseas items. For example, the mark can appear alone on letters in the first weight class to norway 1858-1865. For letters in the second weight class to denmark, the postage was 24 öre from 1869 until 1884. Twenty-four öre corresponded to the wage for two hours of industrial work in the 1860s. As with all gun brands, there is a rich flora of shades – from yellow to dark orange. The dominant dye is chrome yellow (lead chromate) with a minor addition of english red, an iron color. Edition: 9,426,900, 24 öre. The marks were produced without a watermark (only in the sheet margins). Invalid for franking from o. M. On december 30, 1910. The stamp in the picture is from the postmuseum's collections. Date: 1858.
