Aspertini sketch-book (so-called london i): 25th opening left (1898,1123. 3(25) verso) and right-hand page (1898,1123. 3(26) recto) with scenes from trajan's column: the seated emperor trajan being dressed in armour for battle (upper part of opening); roman soldiers constructing a camp with cavalry scouts setting out on patrol (lower part of opening) c. 1535 pen and brown ink, over black chalk, the upper part rubbed with black chalk, on vellum.
