Atalía y Joás, José Aparicio, 1804

In the 9th century bc. Queen athaliah of judah, who was the wife of king joram, ordered the murder of all members of her family so that she herself could reign after the death of her son ahaziah. But joash, son of ahaziah, was hidden and managed to save himself, and when he was seven years old he was proclaimed king of judah in the temple of jerusalem and queen athaliah was murdered, as recorded in the second book of kings and the second book of chronicles.
