So the master is at this moment busy complaining about him to a traveling musician, probably his father, and certainly the conclusion is "that the kid will never be good for anything. " in the background, the figure of the wife appears to us with her expression of feminine indulgence; each of our four characters plays their role here with perfect naturalness; finally; all the accessories that clutter the forge, these old scrap iron, these cauldrons, these dented, patched pots, admirably complete the work of the painter, which as a whole, forms a scene represented with as much truth as wit.
