Two studies of various fighting vessels including submarines, and the royal yacht 'victoria and albert iii' the top image is of an 'a'-class submarine with torpedo boats or destroyers, probably about 1906, before the submarine's conning tower was enlarged. The bottom image is also of an 'a'-class submarine in the period prior to 1908 when the conning tower was modified.
