Five portraits of the actor ichikawa danjuro viii in various roles he played in kaei 2 (1849) at the karawasaki theatre in the play 'ichinotani musha no iezuto' (一谷武者画土産 )--including, tamaya shinbei (top left) in 'tsukidemura shiratsuyu tamaya' (月出村白露玉屋) , kagekiyo (centre) in 'kagekiyo' (景清), one of the eighteen masterpieces of the ichikawa family, and shigehira (lower left) in 'ichinotani musha no iezuto' (一谷武者画土産 ), in different shaped boxes.
