Crivelli World Map, Taddeo Crivelli

A world map separately published by taddeo crivelli, the engraver generally credited with the maps for the 1477 bologna ptolemy, and his partner francesco puteolano on 22 april 1474. No original copies survive. Four copies survive of a reprinting from the original plate by petrus de nobilibus at rome in the late 16th century, c. 1590. Facsimile republished by lino sighinolfi in 1909 and by youssouf kamal, prince of egypt, in 1928. Republished in photostat in 1932. 37 cm x 50 cm. Original of this image (from the 1909 edition) held by the jcb map collection at the john carter brown library at brown university. Date: 1474, republished c. 1590, 1909, 1928, and 1932..
