Le marché (the market). Among buildings beautiful with colour and rich with mosaic the moors buy and sell every con-ceivable thing that man's mind can desire from nails to mules, from candles to slaves. Eggs in plenty fetch from twopence to threepence a dozen, which is a good price in morocco, and there is sold much native butter which needs careful straining before it can be eaten. Barter in the market is much more common than sale. Date: 1903/19uu.
