Garthoff suggests, "we think that your painting is a variant of the portrait of maria mancini in the galleria colonna in rome, which according to m. E. Weisman (casper netscher and late seventeenth-century dutch painting, doornspijk, 2002) was made by someone from netscher's studio. " - provenance: private new england collection".
