Cole collection (m. 84. 31. 455) japanese art 北条時政が江の島に参籠したところ21日目に弁財天が現れ、非道をすれば家が滅びると告げたあと蛇の姿になって海に消えた。そのとき蛇が残した3枚の鱗を扇子の上に載せて頭を垂れる時政を描いたもの。こののち北条家は3つ鱗を家紋とした。 hojo tokimasa. Date: December 1883.
