My dear mum! i want to send you my warmest regards again. Perhaps you have already received my letter from here? now it is evening again and i am sitting in the bunker by candlelight writing to you. The time goes on monotonously; we dig in the night until 5:00 a. M. , then we go into the bunker, eat something, then sleep until 12:00 p. M. And eat again. At 3:30 p. M. It is already dark again. Now it is getting cold; the ground is already 40 cm frozen, making it difficult to work. But that doesn't matter, at least it keeps you warm. Today i am lucky [can stay “at home. ”].
