Plate 32: the tree of the austrian genealogy: a grand arch framing a tableau vivant centrepiece; the genealogical tree of the house of hapsburg shows the names of illustrious family members inscribed on plaques along the branches and trunk; at the foot of the tree is an enthroned female figure, representing the roman catholic church; at the left, a figure personifying divine providence shows belgica the heraldic shield of the cardinal-infante in the company of other figures; at the right, fortitude casts various figures through the gates of hell; surmounting the arch are candles, a vase of gilly flowers, and at left and right are the allegorical figures of painting and sculpture with their attributes; illustration for gaspar gevaerts' "pompa introitus" (antwerp, 1641) etching.
