Engraving made by charles-nicolas cochin fils after a drawing by jean-baptiste oudry representing a bust of jean de la fontaine surrounded by animals and pointed out by a little man. This engraving appeared in the complete edition of la fontaine's fables, at the top of the four volumes by the publisher desaint, saillant et durand, rue saint jean de beauvais in paris, printed by charles-antoine jombert between 1755 and 1759.
