Cecilie trier was the sister of moritz gerson melchior (who commissioned the painting 'from a roman osteria' by carl bloch (kms1238) and who is seen in the background of bloch's painting). Wegmann also painted a portrait of the brother (1884, frederiksborg museum). According to a family tradition, cecilie trier reads a letter from her son gerson.
