In the center panel christ sits above in the clouds. He has raised his right hand in blessing, his left points downwards. Above his head are depicted the holy spirit and the tetragrammaton. A hand with a chalice and a hand with a sword appear on either side of him. Mary and john kneel before him on a lower cloud. Between them lies the cross with the book of life. Apostles sit on the clouds next to christ. Peter and andrew can be recognized on the left with their attributes. Death is central to the performance. He stands upright in a coffin, which is placed on a bier next to an open grave, and points his arrow at the viewer. On the left, an angel points the blessed, who also represent works of mercy, to heaven. On the right the damned are depicted as deadly sins. They are controlled by the devil. In the background of the green plain, the dead rise from their graves. In the foreground lie the bodies of the dead. The landscape and the cloudy sky continue on the side panels, which depict the parable of the wise and foolish virgins (mt. 25:1-13). On the left you can see how the wise virgins are taken to heaven by an angel with their burning oil lamps. An angel with a trumpet and lily branch hovers above them. On the right the foolish virgins with their extinguished oil lamps. They are taken away by the devils. Above them a trumpeting angel with a flaming sword. In the foreground the bodies of the dead.
