The dutch heroes of the sea. Allegory of the dutch naval victories over spain; an allegorical female, holding a palm and resting her foot on envy / despair, rides in a chariot with the admirals de ruyter and tromp and driven by victory; pulling the chariot is "concordia" and the dutch rampant lion; cannons are fired at right and a large naval warship floats on the sea; at left are a number of bound captives engraving published by: hugo allard the younger.
