The paintings by cézanne in this gallery-and many other works in the museum-are from the collection of the late henry and rose pearlman, passionate collectors of works by modern artists from manet to modigliani. Mr. Pearlman had a particular love and affinity for cézanne, assembling an impressive group of his oil paintings and watercolors. Pearlman doubtless retraced the artist's steps along the road shown here, which linked aix-en-provence, the artist's hometown, to the village of le tholonet. -gallery label from the princeton university art museum.
