Portret van Eleonora van Oostenrijk te paard, RP-P-1932-139, Cornelis Anthonisz., between 1550 and 1552

A daughter of w:ferdinand i, holy roman emperor (1503-1564), displaying in a lozenge-shaped shied of a female armiger, the arms of hungary (modern) (coats of arms of the árpád family) quartering the lion of bohemia, with inescutcheon of habsburg (modern) impaling burgundy (ancient). Inscribed as "leonora, eldest daughter of ferdinand i, king of the romans" (holy roman emperor), yet she appears to have been a younger daughter, the 6th. This is therefore apparently w:archduchess eleanor of austria (1534-1594), duchess of mantua by marriage to william i, duke of mantua. Date: between 1550 and 1552.
