My beloved mum! yesterday i got some lovely mail from you again. We have a bit of peace and quiet today, so i want to write to you right away. Yes, mum, i can imagine how you feel. Please don’t make this too difficult, millions of soldiers feel the same way i do today and there’s nothing we can do! now we’ve taken up a firm position on the dena, it’s a bit better there.
