complete copy (two sheets) of the printed newspaper. Le charivari, supplement to the press of december 11, 1841, eleventh year, n°336, saturday december 11, 1841. This caricature is part of the "panthéon charivarique" series, comprising a hundred portrait-charges, published by benjamin roubaud in independent lithography announced by the bibliographie de la france of october 2, 1841 under the heading "no. 937 -- news, 75. -- les lorettes, 6 to 9. -- charivarinous pantheon. Poets: v. Hugo. -- les enfans terribles, 45. -- les femmes de paris, 14. -- les rues de paris, 4. In paris, at {d. Massy}", before being in the press. It was first published there, lithographed in the newspaper "la caricature" of october 10, 1841 then reprinted, redrawn by françois louis français (whose signature appears on certain copies) and engraved on wood by antoine-alphée piaud, in "le charivari", n°345, friday december 10, 1841 and its publications as a supplement to several newspapers, bearing n° 336, for "the presse” on december 11, 1841, for “l’estafette” on december 16, 1841, for “le commerce” on december 22, 1841.
