Did they throw it straight into the town? how was it, is a lot broken? now these criminals are not stopping at our lovely old city of vienna. Is the steffel [st. Stephen's cathedral] still standing? if only this terrible misery would soon end! i just want to ask the lord to protect you and that everything stays ok. Just please go to the cellar immediately and be careful. Take all the most important things with you. I should have the telegram answer tomorrow. Hopefully you won't be frightened when the telegram messenger comes to you. - poldi had written to me about his career as an officer. He also asked me if i would be interested in it. I told him my opinion [and told him that it would never be an option for me!]. Date: 18 March 1944.
