Preliminary sketch for pl 3 of "industry and idleness" (1747), "the idle 'prentice at play in the church yard, during divine service"; scene outside a small church, congregation entering porch to left, in the centre, idle lying on a tomb, playing hustle-cap (pitch and toss) with three figures, to right, the beadle with upraised cane, before the tomb, a grave and skulls pen and brown ink with grey wash, over graphite (?).
