Havehuset belonged to the brøndum family. It was used for different purposes through the years. One of them was to provide accommodation for artists that came to skagen in the summer, and one of those artists was michael ancher, who stayed there and used the studio. In 1880 he married anna brøndum and they lived in havehuset until 1884 when they moved to markvej. Michael ancher kept using the studio, and later it was used by his daughter helga. In 1919 the ancher family gave the house and the garden to the planned skagens museum, and it now houses the cafe brøndums havehus. Object Type: painting. Date: 1912.
