DEU Bardenberg COA, Wolfgang Pagenstecher, 13 November 1935

„or seeded with fifteen trefoils vert, a langued gules lion rampant sable, charged with an escutcheon argent; therein a harp azure above a fess wavy sable; in his right claw crossed saltirewise a hammer and a pick azure. “ the arms were granted on november 13, 1935 the lion is taken from the arms of the county, later duchy of jülich, as until the 13th century the minicipality was part of the jülich county. The mining-tools symbolise bardenbergs tradition as a miningarea. The trefoils stand for agriculture. The harp is derived from the name (barde means singer) although the original name has other origins. Date: 13 November 1935.
