No. Iv. A view of part of the south-east channel for ships, between the islands heliesund and hellisöe. This highly romantic and sublime scene, is inclosed on both sides by the stupendous rocks of the two islands, separated by the narrowest part of the south entrance to the harbour. The mountains are here much higher and more broken, with many large fragments in perilous situations on their sides and prominent angles, threatening destruction to all below. The interstices sparingly afford nourishment and shelter to a stunted shrub or small tree. On the foreground are a few wooden houses inhabited by pilots and fishermen, håving a small patch of ground adjoining for flax. We likewise see a few juniper bushes, some jutting rocks and broken fragments. Date: 1800. View between the Islands of Hellisöe and Heliesund (JW Edy plate 04)
