11th Arkansas Infantry, First National Flag Pattern

11th Arkansas Infantry, First National Flag Pattern

The regimental color of the 11th arkansas volunteers, provisional army of the confederate states, presented circa 1861 and last carried in action in missouri in 1862. The colors are currently in the collections of the old state house museum at little rock. Traditionally thought to have belonged to the 9th arkansas volunteers, more recent evidence indicates the colors were likely captured at island no. 10, which was defended by the 11th and 12th regiments.
