The story of Mr. Kardoes and Miss Muizenschrik / with XVI. life-drawn and colored plates by HJ Backer

Farcical story about a dog and a cat, who dress up as mr and mrs in the absence of their owner in the hope of good food. They fall through the basket and are beaten by the servants. The cat catches a rat, the dog catches thieves and so they are appreciated again. The humorous pictures and the rhyming text are not completely synchronized.
