on june 20, 1912, paul and denise poiret organized "les festes de bacchus" at le butard, a louis met in the neighboring wood, at the butard pavilion. All my guests had to take on the features of a character belonging to the mythology of louis of gold, all curled, with a golden beard as well, draped in a white ivory veil and shod with buskins. The entire part of the forest that i occupied and where the party was to take place had been decorated in the spirit of the grand siècle [. . ]" (in paul poiret, "in dressing the age", p. 186, grasset).
