Presentation to h. M. Napoleon ⅲ of the necklace of the order of the annonciade conferred on h. H. The imperial prince by the king of sardinia. The extraordinary and plenipotentiary envoy of h. M. The king of sardinia had the honor, last sunday, of being received by h. M. Napoleon iii, and of presenting him with the collar of the order of the annunciade conferred by his sovereign on h. H. The prince imperial. We owe to the benevolence of his exc. Mr. Sardinian ambassador has the advantage of offering readers of le monde illustré the reproduction of these insignia, a precious and very rich work. This famous order, whose character is above all chivalrous, is the one from which h. H. The prince imperial has just received the highest decoration. It was founded in 1434 by amédée viii, duke of savoy, who, later retired to the convent of ripuelle, left this retirement to ascend to the pontifical chair under the name of felix v. Mac’vernoll.
