Schooner Colonia-04, 15 July 1899

Larchmont yacht club commodore clarence ashley postley's schooner colonia (designed and built as a sloop in 1893 by herreshoff to be a candidate in the 1893 america's cup) rerigged as a schooner under the supervision of archibald cary smith, who fitted her with a centerboard. She is pictured here in a regatta the larchmont racing week, where she placed third on corrected time in the fleet rankings, but beat her main opponent ariel in the match race ranking.
