“'manifest k ceskoslovenskému lidu v americe!" (manifesto to the czechoslovak people in america) is one of a series of posters recruiting czech and slovak volunteers to fight with the czechoslovak legion against austria-hungary and germany for an independent czechoslovakia. A soldier carries the flags of the united states and of the slovak and czech independence movements.
