The arcade saint-jean is seen here from the opposite end of a very narrow street typical of early nineteenth-century paris. With the construction of so many new buildings around it, the archway became so crowded in on both sides that only its roof and spires were visible from a distance by 1830. Date: between 1875 and 1882. Dimensions: 20.1 x 11.2 cm. Medium: lithograph. Collection: Brown University Library.
