Folio from the moraqqa'-e golshan, golestan library. Inscription in the upper right-hand corner ascribed this painting to behzad. Because behzad died in 1535/1536, this painting has conventionally been dated "circa 1525". Binyon, wilkinson and gray wrote in 1931 that "there is no reason to reject the attribution to bihzad". Most scholars, however, have treated the attribution with some reserve, while ivan stchoukine has decisiveley rejected it as apocryphal and identifies the painting as a work of the tabriz school of the 1550s. S. C. Welch has also adhered to this view. Date: Between 1525 and 1560.
