Soaptrust, William Haselden, 22 October 1906

Cartoon from the daily mirror 22nd. October 1906. A parody of william lever, whose factory was named port sunlight. The aim of the soap trust had been idealistic, as lever stated, aiming to provide "a cheaper product. . A more abundant product. . A better product". The press and public disagreed. See wilson, charles. The history of unilever. London, 1954, chapter 6, pp72-88 the crisis of 1906. This cartoon published p. 81. Date: 22 October 1906.
