the two defendants are the protagonists of a famous news item, the fualdès affair in rodez (1817). Convicted on questionable testimony and although claiming their innocence, they were executed in june 1818 for the murder of joseph-bernardin fualdès, prosecutor and magistrate under the revolution and the empire.
