Nieuhof-p-189-Mogolsche-gezant-Lach-van-Kley-plate-315, Johan Nieuhof

"moghul embassy", seen by the dutch visitors in beijing in 1656. According to lach & kley (1993), modern historians (namely, en:luciano petech) think that the emissaries portrayed had actually come from turfan, and not all the way from the moghul india. Date: Published in German edition in 1666, presumably reproduced from the 1665 Dutch edition. Must have been originally drawn during the Dutch embassy's visit to Beijing, in 1656.
