Guy's hospital- life in a london hospital, england, 1941
this photograph shows (on the right) a copy of the mpc 47 document, which is completed for every casualty arriving at guy's hospital, alongside (on the left of the photograph) the tally sheet made by the 'tally man', listing the numbers of all casualties that have arrived. The mpc 47 document records the casualty number, the number of the ambulance that brought the casualty in, and other personal information. This document accompanies patients around the hospital, and all further care is based on the contents of this document. The tally sheet states that all casualties on this 'watch' have come in by ambulance or on foot from the bermondsey park road area, suggesting an incident, such as an air raid, may have occurred. Date: 1941.
