Description: a monarch sits on a throne under a canopy with a guard to his right and a figure blowing a horn. On the left, grieving women kneel and a man wearing a helmet shows two severed heads to the figure on the throne. There are two severed heads on the ground in front of the throne. In the left foreground is the personified envy, with snakes on her head and in her hand and a torch and in front of it a second figure with a mask in front of her face who puts her hand in a treasure chest. In the background a warlord on a column. Bottom right eight lines in dutch. Perhaps this depicts caesar, to whom pompey's head is handed over. Title print of (the first edition of) a book by lambert van den bos with a total of twenty prints by arnold houbraken. Manufacture.
