Woman in Tanger, Morocco, Victor Eeckhout, Entre 1866 et 1879

Woman in Tanger, Morocco, Victor Eeckhout, Entre 1866 et 1879

Oil painting on canvas titled "woman in tangier, morocco" (fr; femme de tangier, maroc) by the belgian painter victor eeckhout (1821–1879). The woman wears traditional moroccan clothing; she is dressed in a mansouria which is a feminine outfit consisting of a caftan which is worn under a transparent dafina which is worn above the caftan. The look, the jewellery and the silk belt she wears at her waist are faithful to the representation of the woman of tangier. Date: Entre 1866 et 1879.
