Anne de la vigne was a famous french poet, who died in 1684. She is depicted with a laurel wreath around her arm, in the right bottom corner is an inscription "calliope muse de la poesie". From jean moust antiques. . "the attribution to louis elle i is due to sotheby's, london, where this painting had been auctioned in 1987. Looking at other (signed) portraits by louis elle the elder the attribution seems absolutely right. " [1]. Date: 17th century (painted between 1660-1670 according to the purchase receipt from Jean Moust Antiques in Bruges, Belgium). Dimensions: height: 199 cm (78.3 in); width: 144.5 cm (56.8 in).
