Portrait of the spanish soldier josé o'donnell anethan (1768-1836), who was the son of josé o'donnell and o'donnell, of irish origin, and brother of lieutenant general enrique josé o'donnell, count of la bisbal. Furthermore, josé fought in the spanish war of independence against the french, and for his actions in favor of ferdinand vii during the war waged against the liberals between 1821 and 1824 he was rewarded with the laureate cross of san fernando and the cross of the order of san hermenegildo.
