A.C.Comercio, Antonio Cortina Farinós, circa 1884

The commerce. Oil/canvas glued to wood. 58x42 cm. It comes from the demolition of house no. 19 of the plaza del ayuntamiento of valencia, where the photographer antonio garcía peris, father-in-law of the painter joaquín sorolla y bastida, lived. The painting was transferred from the ceiling to wood in 1962 by the artist luis roig d'alós. It is currently part of the pictorial collection of the mercantile athenaeum of valencia. Date: circa 1884.
