Poster published for the international gymnastics competition organized at the champ-de-mars in paris on july 21 and 22, 1923 by the gymnastics and sports federation of french patronages (fgspf), under the honorary presidency of alexandre millerand, president of the french republic; under the patronage of raymond poincaré, president of the council of ministers and andré maginot, minister of war; under the effective presidency of flaminius raiberti, minister of the navy, assisted by henry paté, high commissioner of physical education. This poster was designed by alphonse lalauze (1872–1936), a french painter and engraver, most of whose artistic work revolves around historical and military themes. Alphonse lalauze is the son of adolphe lalauze (1838–1905), french engraver, vignettist, illustrator and painter. Date: 1923.
