Aniche (cartulary of charles de croÿ); album de croÿ, gouache painted on parchment by adrien de montigny for charles de croÿ
the sunken path in the first plan would be the one coming from bouchain and leading to auberchicourt and douai. The artist has depicted on the roof of the church the hooks which retain the snow and/or allow ladders to be hung for maintaining the slates. Two turrets are visible on the side of the church, topped with slate-covered spiers. The nave appears to be made of four bays without aisles. The narrower and lower chancel is unusually elongated (at least three bays). The church was rebuilt from 1857 to 1859 and the bell tower rebuilt in 1872.
